3。5This volume was loads funnier than the previous two! The scenes between Haru and Azusa were pure gold haha。 I also really appreciated the scenes that helped ground our two leads a bit more, they felt a lot more human to me, and that's so important。 It's really sweet that Chika and Azusa seem to have become real friends along the way, helping and depending on each other at times。 I can't wait to see how this bizarre series will end。 Hopefully it's super good!!Btw, am I the only one who thi 3。5This volume was loads funnier than the previous two! Probably lolol。 。。。more

Stuck in Chikashi’s body for the longest time yet, Azuza finds herself in a new predicament: bathing with Chikashi’s P4U bandmates only to faint。 She wakes up to find the lead of P4U, Haru, kissing her in Chikashi’s body! Unable to figure out what to do with the latest turn of events, Azusa tries to avoid him as much as possible, but how long can she manage it without revealing the truth of her and Chikashi’s predicament?I have loved this series since I first started and was excited to see Azuza Stuck in Chikashi’s body for the longest time yet, Azuza finds herself in a new predicament: bathing with Chikashi’s P4U bandmates only to faint。 She wakes up to find the lead of P4U, Haru, kissing her in Chikashi’s body! Azusa and Chikashi are still body-swapped, but there’s a new wrinkle as Chikashi’s band mate, Haru, steals a kiss from Azusa-as-Chikashi。 Now it’s crazy-for-him versus crazy-as-him as the two butt heads, but it just might show Chikashi what he really wants out of life。Well, that sounds a lot more exciting than it actually is。 I feel like Azusa’s lunatic fan persona got tamped down a little in volume 2 and we were all better for it。 It rebounds with a vengeance and, while it ultimately benefits C Azusa and Chikashi are still body-swapped, but there’s a new wrinkle as Chikashi’s band mate, Haru, steals a kiss from Azusa-as-Chikashi。 Now it’s crazy-for-him versus crazy-as-him as the two butt heads, but it just might show Chikashi what he really wants out of life。Well, that sounds a lot more exciting than it actually is。 I feel like Azusa’s lunatic fan persona got tamped down a little in volume 2 and we were all better for it。 It rebounds with a vengeance and, while it ultimately benefits Chikashi, it’s an extreme I don’t care for。Haru adds a really fun dynamic - his stolen kiss aside, he really cares about Chikashi and his attempts to come between our leads are pretty good。 I like that he makes a much better rival than most shojo rivals, nice touch there。I just wish this had been funnier - the couple jokes that really land are hilarious。 Chikashi-as-Azusa gets the most comically understated ‘whoa’, and the reaction of the students upon seeing another celebrity in their midst is choice。 More of that would have been lovely。Given the introduction of yet another new character at the end of the book, and knowing this next volume is the last, this whole thing feels like an idea that Junko either couldn’t flesh out enough or merely lost interest in。 It just doesn’t resonate like it could。Yeah, I just don’t have a ton to say here。 This book simply doesn’t have quite the spark of the second volume。 There was a lot that this latest twist could have offered but I don’t feel like it did, nor am I confident it will。 。。。more

2020 Read #629Hmm。 I like the addition of Haru since he brings a nice dynamic to mesh with the main characters, but I have to wonder what the “problem” is that’s causing Azusa and Chika to switch。。。 (And can I just say how weird it was to read the afterword from Junko about quarantine as of April 2020 in Japan? I am curious how other manga-ka handled it。。。)
